Research Objectives

BERN is a cross-disciplinary research cluster whose aim is to promote behavioural and experimental methods in Economics and Business and related disciplines at The University of Sydney.

The objectives of the network are:

  • To develop dedicated laboratory facilities in the Faculty of Economics and Business for research using behavioural and experimental methods, including computer-assisted and online experiments.
  • To introduce behavioural and experimental activities in learning and teaching into units of study and provide leadership and a source of advice.
  • To convene a regular workshop program for behavioural and experimental research presentations by academics, research students, and visitors.
  • To serve as a networking hub for academics and research students interested in behavioural and experimental research and teaching, and develop linkages with other leading practitioners in these fields.
  • To share expertise in behavioural and experimental methods, and promote cross-disciplinary collaboration in their development and application.
  • To advocate for the shared interests of behavioural and experimental researchers in the development of research infrastructure and policy.
